Meet Ashish C Bhatia, MD, FAAD
Dr. Bhatia has extensive experience in dermatologic surgery and laser & cosmetic surgery. His practice focuses on Mohs & reconstructive surgery, skin cancer therapies, face and body cosmetic procedures, facial rejuvenation, laser surgery, and skin resurfacing procedures. He specializes in advanced techniques in minimally invasive and non-invasive body scuplting, neuromodulators for lines and wrinkles (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), fillers (Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, Sculptra, Radiesse, Voluma), and Kybella for submental contouring.  He has expertise with the latest lasers for sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, hair reduction, blood vessels, birthmarks, acne, tattoos, as well as many other applications.

Dr. Bhatia has published extensively in medical journals and textbooks, and lectures both nationally and internationally.   He serves on the editorial board of JAMA Dermatology, and is frequently asked to be an expert reviewer for the top medical journals in dermatologic surgery, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.  Through his clinical research, publications, public service initiatives, and the use of innovative technologies for instruction, Dr. Bhatia has made a broad range of intellectual and practical contributions to the fields of dermatology and dermatologic surgery. 
One of Dr. Bhatia’s passions is education.  Along with teaching at Northwestern University, he is also the co-founder and co-director of The Chief Academy which is a national program dedicated to teaching rising Chief Residents in Dermatology the essentials of leadership, education, and administrative skills to prepare them to be successful leaders in their residency programs.  It also serves as a platform to provide mentorship for attendees to become leaders in their field and in their communities.  This program has earned top reviews from the department chairmen and residency directors at the top universities in the US.  The Chief Academy has graduated 8 classes, and several graduates have returned as faculty.

Dr. Bhatia has extensive experience in clinical research, which has allowed him to work with cutting edge laser technologies, fillers, neuromodulators, and new medications many years before they became available on the market. He served as the founding Medical Director for Clinical Research at DuPage Medical Group for over 5 years, growing the program to 14 specialties and overseeing clinical studies on many innovative technologies used to benefit patients in the US today.  He is the Director of Clinical Research at The Dermatology Institute, which continues to research and develop the medical and aesthetic technologies for tomorrow. 

Dr. Bhatia is an Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, where he enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows the art and science of skin cancer surgery, reconstructive surgery, cosmetic procedures and laser physics while building their core knowledge in dermatologic surgery.  

Dr. Bhatia’s memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Bhatia received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honors society and earned awards for achievement and service. He completed his residency in Dermatology at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals where he served as Chief Resident. Subsequently, he completed an intensive fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Cutaneous Oncology, Reconstruction, Cosmetic Surgery, and Laser Surgery at SkinCare Physicians in Chestnut Hill, MA under the direction of leaders in the field from Boston University, Harvard University, and Yale University.
