Meet W. Grant Stevens, MD, FACS
W. Grant Stevens, MD, FACS, is the founder and medical director of Marina Plastic Surgery and The Institute, a medical spa, in Marina del Rey, CA.  He is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He is Chairman of the USC-Marina Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, Director of the USC Division of Aesthetic Surgery and a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the USC Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Stevens is a traveling professor and serves on the Board of Directors and as secretary of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, as well as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery where he serves as one of the traveling professors and assistant national secretary. He has spoken at more than 100 meetings and 300 invited talks around the U.S. and the world.

Dr. Michelle Spring

Dr. Michelle Spring is a board-certified female plastic surgeon serving Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. She specializes in cosmetic surgery at Marina Plastic Surgery and is an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. After completing an American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery fellowship with Dr. Stevens and an Integrated Plastic Surgery residency at University of Wisconsin, Madison, Dr. Spring practiced in Wisconsin as faculty and helped train residents in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery.

Prior to joining the team at Marina Plastic Surgery, Dr. Spring traveled for one year to Bangladesh, Bolivia, China, Ecuador, India, Peru, Taiwan and Vietnam, where she used her surgical skills and compassion to provide humanitarian relief as an Interplast Webster Fellow. She provided free reconstructive plastic surgery for children and adults with cleft palates, cleft lips, disfiguring burns and hand deformities. She then practiced in Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho before returning to Southern California.

Dr. Luis H. Macias:

Dr. Luis H. Macias is a highly-trained plastic surgeon, double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery serving Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, specializing in aesthetic and complex reconstructive plastic surgery. A University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine alumnus, Dr. Macias completed a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Mayo Clinic, followed by a fellowship in microvascular reconstructive surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Closer to home, Dr. Macias underwent further training in cosmetic surgery in the USC-Marina Plastic Surgery Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, under the direction of Dr. Grant Stevens.

Using his specialized microsurgical and aesthetic training, Dr. Macias provides Los Angeles plastic surgery patients exceptional technical skill in breast reconstruction following mastectomy and body contouring procedures such as Brazilian butt lifts, Cellulaze™ to treat cellulite, and Smartlipo™. Dr. Macias is highly experienced in breast augmentation using gummy bear breast implants, laser breast surgery, power-assisted tumescent liposuction, and no-drain tummy tucks. He is also trained to perform the breakthrough NeoGraft® hair replacement procedure. In addition to seeing patients at Marina Plastic Surgery, Dr. Macias continues to train chief residents in the University of Southern California Plastic Surgery Residency Program as well as cosmetic surgery fellows in the USC-Marina Plastic Surgery Aesthetic Fellowship. As is typical, Dr. Macias went above and beyond and in addition to his extensive formal training he traveled overseas to train with some of the leading plastic surgery innovators.

Cory Felber, PA-C Aesthetic Specialist

Cory is an NCCPA nationally board-certified and state-licensed surgical physician assistant trained in a wide variety of non-ablative techniques that complement the work of our surgeons and assist those wanting a non-surgical approach to self-improvement. With her aesthetic and clinical dermatology expertise, she serves adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. She is also an approved Injector Trainer for Allergan, the maker of BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM dermal filler.

She has her undergraduate degree from UCLA in the field of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. Following UCLA, she attended the Physician Assistant Program at USC School of Medicine, and completed her clinical training at LAC-USC Medical Center. She received her NCCPA national board certification with honors in both general and surgical medicine.

She helps our Los Angeles and Beverly Hills plastic surgery patients look their best through treatments, including: general dermatology, skin rejuvenation, DUSA BLU-U® for acne and pre-cancerous lesions, BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport™, injectable fillers (such as Restylane®, Sculptra® Aesthetic and RADIESSE®), Thermage®, non-surgical facelift procedures, laser treatments for acne and fine lines, laser hair removal, laser vein treatments, Pearl/Pearl Fractional, Fraxel®, IPL photofacials, chemical peels and skin care for acne and anti-aging.

Carla Crespo, MS, PA-C 

Carla Crespo MS, PA-C is a California State and National Board Certified Physician Assistant and Registered Nurse. She has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University and a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences. Carla is also an approved Injector Trainer for Allergan, (the maker of BOTOX and JUVÉDERM dermal filler), and Medicis (the makers of DYSPORT, RESTYLANE and PERLANE).

Carla has been specially trained in clinical dermatology and non-ablative procedures. Her skills, with precise technique and thorough knowledge, have gained the respect of patients, staff, and others in the community.

She has a great deal of patient experience and a broad medical background. Prior to her studies at Western University, she worked in the very diverse and busy emergency department of Scripps Memorial Chula Vista in San Diego. Her bilingual skills in Spanish and English have been invaluable in helping patients receive the proper care.

Carla’s areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, clinical dermatology, aesthetic skin rejuvenation, Dysport and BOTOX, injectable fillers, peels, ThermaCool / radio frequency non-surgical facelift procedures, pulsed dye laser, DUSA BLU-U for acne and pre-cancerous lesions, laser hair removal, laser vein treatments, Pearl/Pearl Fractional laser treatments, IPL / photofacials, Fraxel, Titan, general skin care services and product knowledge for problems like acne and signs of aging.

Charlie Sheridan, Director

Charlie joined our practice in 1988. She studied business as well as design from Santa Monica College and UCLA. Her creativity, entrepreneurial and leadership skills have greatly contributed to the expansion and success of the company. Charlie coordinates all patient-relation functions, business operations, public relations, and sales and marketing efforts. Her passion for the medical/aesthetics industry is a perfect match for this professional who thrives in an innovative, cutting-edge organization.

Lindsey Poag, Assistant to Director, Patient Advocate

Lindsey Poag has been in the Aesthetic Industry since 1999. Lindsey brings with her an extensive background of knowledge in medical skin care services and cosmeceutical products. In addition to her responsibilities as Assistant to the Director, she is also a Patient Advocate helping clients with coordinating appointments and surgeries. She will be there to answer any questions you may have before and after your procedure, ensuring that your experience at MPSA is positive and enjoyable!

Katie Jo Menden, Patient Coordinator for Dr. Michelle Spring & Dr. Luis Macias

Katie Jo Menden has worked in the beauty industry for over 11 years. She is dedicated to helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals by being a loyal patient-advocate throughout the surgical process. Stephanie Sacker, Patient Concierge

Erica assists all clients during the check-out process. Erica attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has been in the plastic surgery industry for over 10 years. She is here to ensure that you have had exceptional service and care, your purchases are completed, and that your next appointment is scheduled. Erica is usually the last friendly face you will see before you leave our office.

Melissa Silva, Front Office Manager

Melissa has been in the Aesthetic Industry since 2002. She is simultaneously working on her Associate in Arts degree. Melissa brings to our reception area an enthusiasm that our patients appreciate and enjoy. Additionally, Melissa is a licensed professional Make-up Artist, and we use her expertise on our non surgical makeover clients. She’s the cheery voice you will hear on the other end when you call Marina Plastic Surgery.

Amanda Vrachan, Front Desk Associate

Amanda has been in the medical industry for over 12 years. Her solid experience in a healthcare environment results in the ability to deal successfully with the demands of a busy and diverse patient base. In addition to her extensive experience, Amanda possesses strong communication skills, a calm and pleasant demeanor, and an innate ability to be warm and compassionate. She is responsible for greeting and registering patients in the facility as well as verifying correctness of patient demographic and privacy information. This winning combination ensures that you will receive exceptional service and care, while visiting Marina Plastic Surgery.

Jakie recently joined our practice after specializing in the customer service industry for over 5 years. She graduated from ITAM of Mexico with a degree in Business Administration. By integrating her desire to assist others, together with her prior customer service knowledge, Jakie exemplifies our creedo: “… where the genuine care of our patients is our highest mission.” Jakie is available to assist you in all facets of your arrival, but primarily works with the check-out process of your visit. Above all, she enjoys being able to make your day a little brighter by providing thorough and compassionate customer care.

Maria Acevedo, Registered Nurse

Maria has been with Marina Plastic Surgery Medical Corporation since 1989. Most of her time is spent with post-operative patients and patient education. She is also the Clinical Nurse coordinator for the FDA regulated clinical breast implant studies in our office. Maria has a Master’s Degree in Nursing from USC. She enjoys working with patients and directing them through a positive surgical experience as well as the many other services we provide.

Patrice Taylor, Registered Nurse

Patrice has been with Marina Plastic Surgery Medical Corporation since 1995. She specializes in preoperative preparation of patients for surgery and postoperative care. She is a registered nurse with an associate in science degree. Having graduated from Bergen Community College in 1975, Patrice has enjoyed many different areas of medicine, but specifically loves the Plastic Surgery field.

Tami Greiner, Registered Nurse

Tami Greiner, R.N., joined Marina Plastic Surgery in 2002. She primarily works with Dr. Michelle Spring assisting with patient care. She LOVES working with patients and their families pre-and- postoperatively. She is a mother of twin boys who keep her busy when she is not in the office. Tami received her nursing degree from Santa Monica College, and also attended UCLA on a full athletic scholarship for swimming.

Elina Garcia, Certified Medical Assistant

Elina works in our practice to assist the needs of Cory Felber, and Carla Crespo, our Physician Assistants. She will prepare for your visit in such a way, that you feel confident and well cared for. Her genuine compassion and sunny disposition, provide an atmosphere of comfort that patients desire, and deserve! Elina’s effervescent and bubbly spirit, combined with her dedicated professionalism, adds up to one Medical Assistant that is truly an asset to our company.

Anna Zamora, Certified Medical Assistant, Assistant to PAs

Anna works in our practice to assist our Physician Assistants, in the non-surgical division of our practice (The Stevens Institute). Her primary focus is to be the liaison between the PAs and patients, to ensure optimal communication and understanding. She joined our team with extensive knowledge is the medical industry. Her past includes cosmetic, dermatologic, and family practice experience as a Certified Surgical/Medical Assistant. Anna takes pride in her calming disposition, and is always available to help out wherever she is needed! Her mission is to ensure maximum comfort and trust while in our care!

Jessica Palomares, Administrative Assistant and Insurance Coordinator

Jessica has been with Marina Plastic Surgery since 2000. She serves as an insurance coordinator in the billing department and will graciously be your personal liaison for all insurance-related matters! Jessica is the key contact person at Marina Plastic Surgery for obtaining the maximum benefits from your insurance carrier.

Viviana Paxman, Bookkeeper

We are proud to have Viviana Paxman as our corporate bookkeeper and accounting manager. She has been with our practice since 2007, and plans on a long future with our company. Viviana’s education began in Brazil and was completed in the United States at UCLA. She continues to attend courses to further her education in finance management. We consider her to be a huge asset to our company.
