Meet George J. Hruza, MD
Dr. Hruza is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at St. Louis University and Director of the Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been listed in St. Louis Magazine as one of the Top Doctors and Best Doctors in the St. Louis area for over 15 years. He received his medical degree from New York University at the top of his class and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Societies. He completed his dermatology residency at New York University Medical Center in 1986 followed by a laser surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Wellman Laboratory for Photomedicine and a Mohs and dermatologic surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Hruza is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, the American Board of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and the American Board of Laser Surgery. Before his current position he was an Associate Professor of Dermatology, Surgery and Otolaryngology and director of dermatologic surgery training at Washington University in St. Louis for 11 years. He has trained a total of 21 Mohs surgery fellows. Dr. Hruza serves on the Editorial Boards of the Dermatologic Surgery, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. He has served on the Association of Academic Dermatologic Surgeons, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Boards of Directors. He currently serves as the President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and as Treasurer of the Missouri State Medical Association and is Past President of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society. He has contributed more than 135 publications to the medical literature including two textbooks on laser surgery and has lectured extensively on four continents on lasers in dermatology, Mohs surgery, skin cancer, cosmetic surgery and dermatologic surgery.

Dr. Ramona Behshad is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. She initially joined the Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center as Mohs surgery fellow in 2011, and continued as an associate physician in 2012. She is also part of the clinical faculty in the Department of Dermatology at St. Louis University. During her medical training, Dr. Behshad refined her skills as a skin cancer specialist and received extensive hands-on training in laser as well as other cosmetic dermatologic procedures. She trained in dermatology at University Hospitals/Case Medical Center after graduating from medical school with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors from Case Western Reserve University and completing her undergraduate work with Phi Beta Kappa at the same institution. Dr. Behshad’s academic orientation has led to medical research projects with the National Institutes of Health and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, among others. She has investigated high-risk skin cancers, inflammatory skin disease, and T-cell immunology in cutaneous lymphoma and psoriasis. As a result of this work and her experience in Mohs surgery, reconstruction, and surgical and laser scar revision, Dr. Behshad has given several lectures, presented data at local meetings, and published on these topics in the peer-reviewed literature. She is also involved in organized medicine as council member to the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society and Missouri State Medical Association. Outside of work, her areas of interest include drawing, playing the piano, painting, sports, and learning about other cultures through travel.

Mary McKaig, RN, is the skin care consultant at Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center. Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from SIU-Edwardsville, Illinois. She has worked as a telemetry and pediatric nurse prior to specializing in the care, treatment, and enhancement of skin in the dermatologic surgery and cosmetic setting. Mary has extensive experience in lasers and injectables. She has also been trained in facials, peels and skin rejuvenation techniques. When not working, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She is available for complimentary consultations by appointment.

M. Scott Radle, Practice Administrator, Scott is the Practice Administrator at Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Maryville University and offers over 25 years of experience in all aspects of business office management in the healthcare industry, including financial reporting, human resources, accounts receivable analysis and project management. Scott possesses a strong track record of developing office policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency and productivity. Scott has managed the business operations and staff of multi-location facilities, as well as individual practices. Scott enjoys spending time with his two daughters and plays an active role in their busy lives. He enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, bowling, dancing, camping and spending time with friends and family.
