Skin Cancer Specialists P.C. & Aesthetic Center
OUR HISTORYSkin Cancer Specialists, P.C. is home to the Atlanta Skin Cancer Center and was originally founded by Mark A. Chastain, M.D. and Jennifer L. Buckley, M.D., M.P.H. in order to provide the people of Georgia with various services related to the prevention, detection, and management of skin cancer. Since that time, we have grown to become a premier dermatology practice with multiple locations serving patients from not only metro Atlanta, but also from north and south Georgia, eastern Alabama, and southern Tennessee. Since our original vision as a practice focused solely on skin cancer, we have slowly broadened our scope to include general dermatology and cosmetic dermatological services. Our aesthetic center and laser center is staffed by fully licensed cosmetologists and aestheticians and offers a comprehensive menu of the latest treatment options.
Skin cancer accounts for over 50% of all new malignancies in the United States. In response to this terrifying reality, we are committed to a three-tiered approach for improving the health of our community:
We don’t believe in hasty decisions or one-size-fits-all treatments. Should we find a suspicious spot during a screening examination, we carefully determine if biopsy is appropriate. If skin cancer is diagnosed, we offer several techniques for its safe removal, including Mohs micrographic surgery and advanced reconstructive surgical procedures when needed.
- Education on methods of prevention and early detection
- Thorough and regular skin cancer screening examinations
- Compassionate treatment that maximizes effectiveness and respects aesthetic implications
We continually adapt our practice to reflect new and improved technique and procedures. Skin Cancer Specialists, P.C. was the first in metro Atlanta to offer Superficial Radiation Therapy with the SRT-100, an innovative and effective non-surgical option for skin cancer management. We proudly partner with Skin Cancer Specialists Surgery Center, LLC, the largest dermatology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Georgia (State License# 033-517). Our Joint Commission (JCAHO) accreditation assures adherence to the highest standards in the industry.
We are committed to providing the ultimate in personalized care whether it’s skin cancer management, general dermatology or aesthetic services. Your total wellness and satisfaction is our primary goal.
