Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi
Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi is an internationally-known author and lecturer on cosmetic dermatology and cutaneous laser surgery. She joined the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery in 2001 and served as the Co-director of Laser Surgery until 2015. In September of 2015, Dr. Tanzi created Capital Laser and Skin Care, a state-of-the-art center for cosmetic and laser dermatology just outside Washington, DC in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Dr. Tanzi pursued her medical education at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York, where she graduated in the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society at the top of her class. She completed her dermatology residency at Columbia University, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York where she served as chief resident. She has published over 60 original medical articles and chapters and has been involved with the development of several new laser systems and therapeutic techniques that are now commonly used throughout the world. She is an annual invited speaker at the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. She actively serves as a journal reviewer for the Journal of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery, Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy, Pediatric Dermatology, and is a contributing editor of Dermatologic Surgery. As an active leader in cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Tanzi is involved with industry and serves on several medical advisory boards to assist in the development of new technology and techniques. Dr. Tanzi is currently a consulting dermatologist for Beiersdorf and the Eucerin and Aquaphor lines of products. Her contributions to the field of dermatology and laser surgery are regularly featured in many media outlets including The Today Show, CNN, NBC News, Fox News, The New York Times, USA Today, Vogue, Allure, O Magazine, In-Style, Elle, Self, People StyleWatch, and Cosmopolitan. She is a frequent guest and serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the Dr. Oz Show.
