Radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (also known as RFAL or by trade names such as BodyTite) is a relatively new, minimally invasive procedure which uses a thermal energy field to induce skin tightening. A cannula is inserted beneath the skin, and an electrode is placed on the surface of the skin. An electrical current flows from the tip of the cannula to the electrode, creating a contained thermal field with 100 percent energy concentration to maximize skin contraction and fat coagulation.
